Landmark Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent
Seniors Brooks Austin (football), Josh Nobles (football), and Paul Orr (cross country) all signed letters of intent to compete at the collegiate level. Austin signed with Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, Nobles with New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Orr signed to run cross country for Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia. These are three outstanding young men and they will have great careers at these schools.
Junior Samuel Choi Places First; Team Takes 2nd In Math Competition
On Friday, January 25, the Landmark Mathematics Competition team traveled to Americus, Georgia to participate in the Georgia Southwestern University Math Tournament. 22 Students from Landmark participated in the tournament which included over 45 schools and 490 students. Samuel Choi placed 1st individually in the GHSA Class A and the Landmark team placed second in GHSA Class A.
The team members that competed are:Charles Austin, Lyndi Bailey, Aaron Burtz, Zachary Carter, Nolan Cartledge, Samuel Choi, Royce Clark, Daniel Crum, Ryan Fox, Chloe Garden, Will Holleman, Ty Janyaem, Mason Mahaffey, Jordan Manning, Connor Mulbacher, Andrew Sheffield, Titus Creamer, Phillip Stevens, Connor Swords, Dami Taiwo, Hunter Wallace, Brandon Wilde, and Aaron Winfrey.
Landmark’s Spring Musical Is Oklahoma! – Don’t Miss It!
This spring, the talented students of Landmark, under the direction of Ms. Shea Johnson, will stage Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! at the Southside Theatre Guild in downtown Fairburn. Rehearsals are in full swing for what promises to be another great Landmark theatre production. The performances will run Wednesday, March 6 through Sunday, March 10. Showtimes are 7 pm Wednesday through Saturday with matinee shows at 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Quiz Bowl Teams Compete
Our varsity Quiz Bowl team, represented by Connor Swords (captain), Noah Ballard, and Michael Johnson won 3rd place in Saturday’s competition at Providence Christian School. Our junior varsity team, represented by Mason Mahaffey (captain), Connor Mahlbacher, Zachary Carter, Amanda Berry, and Daniel Crum, also won 3rd place.
